Previously, queer movies were generally of the indie or underground variety, with movies like But I'm A Cheerleader, Jennifer's Body, and Desert Hearts becoming cult classics years after release. Luckily, there’s a clear trend in Hollywood towards telling LGBTQ+ stories, and in some cases, letting the LGBTQ+ community tell it themselves.
